Skaka Senghor explains that just because you committed a crime, it doesn't define who you are. In fact, it could be the beginning of the rest of your life. In 12 Angry Men, a man is accused of a crime and 12 jurors with different views are forced to come to decide if the man is innocent of guilty. At the beginning, the jury follows the views of juror #10 by voting the accused man guilty, but juror #8 steps up and defends the man until the facts prove otherwise. Some of the jurors did not want to waste their whole day arguing over the case so they agreed with the winning side. These men forgot to realize that they are deciding if a man spends his life in jail or not.
At the end, the accused is man was seen as innocent. Just by talking it out, the jury was able to come to a proper conclusion about the case and could have saved this man’s life. Skaka Senger encourages everyone to look at life honestly no matter what obstacles stand in your way. |
